Lab numbers come from one Lighthouse run by Google per site; “real visitors” is the Chrome UX Report over 28 days. Page weight and requests come from our own Chromium visit.

What this tool checks

A full report per site, compared on the speed numbers that matter for ranking and for visitors.

  • Lighthouse performance score

The 0 to 100 speed score Google's own tools show, combining the main lab metrics.

  • Real-user Largest Contentful Paint

How long the biggest element takes to appear for real Chrome users, against Google's 2.5 s target.

  • Real-user Interaction to Next Paint

How fast the page reacts to taps and clicks for real Chrome users, against Google's 200 ms target.

  • Real-user Cumulative Layout Shift

How much the page jumps around on real visitors' devices, against Google's 0.1 target.

  • Largest Contentful Paint

How long the biggest element on screen takes to appear, which visitors and Google judge speed on.

  • Total Blocking Time

How long JavaScript keeps the page too busy to respond to taps, measured in the lab.

  • Cumulative Layout Shift

How much the page jumps around while loading, one of Google's three Core Web Vitals.

  • Time to First Byte

How long the server takes to start answering, which delays everything else on the page.

  • Total image weight

Adds up the size of all images on the page, usually the heaviest part and slowest on mobile.

How it works

  1. Enter up to five sites

Your site first, then up to four competitors. Every site gets a full getReport check, so each column links to a complete report you can open later.

  2. Google measures each one

PageSpeed Insights runs the same Lighthouse test on every site with the same device, and the Chrome UX Report adds what real visitors experienced over the last 28 days.

  3. See who wins where

Every metric is coloured by Google's thresholds and the best site in each row is marked, so you see at a glance where you lead and where a competitor is faster.

Lab numbers come from one Lighthouse run per site and move a few points between runs. Real-visitor data only exists for sites with enough Chrome traffic; smaller sites show lab numbers only.

Questions

Is this really free?

Yes. getReport is funded by donations, not plans. Every site you compare gets the same full report anyone can run, and each one counts once towards the usual limit of 10 checks in 10 minutes.

Which numbers should I compare first?

The Core Web Vitals row, because that is what Google uses as a ranking signal: Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift measured on real Chrome users over 28 days. When a competitor passes and you fail, that is the gap that matters. The PageSpeed score is a single simulated visit on a slow phone; it is good for finding causes (Total Blocking Time points at JavaScript, a slow server response at hosting) but a few points of difference between sites mean little. Page weight and the number of requests explain most lab differences between shops on the same platform.

Do my competitors see that I checked them?

No. The check visits their homepage once like any browser would, identified as GetReportBot. Nothing is sent to them, and the comparison link is private unless you share it.

Why is a competitor's real-visitor data missing?

Chrome only publishes field data for pages and sites with enough traffic from Chrome users who opted in. Smaller sites show lab numbers only; compare those instead.

Do you store my results?

Each site's report is kept for 12 months at its own link, and the comparison is just a link to those reports. Reports are not listed publicly and carry a noindex tag.
