This share link generator builds the share address each platform documents, with your text, hashtags and account filled in where the platform reads them, plus an accessible set of share buttons to paste into a page.

How the share link generator works

  1. Enter the page and text

    The address people will share, a sentence of text, optional hashtags, your X account and an image for Pinterest.

  2. Check the links

    Each platform shows its share address and a note on what it does with your text; Open tries it in a new tab.

  3. Copy the snippet

    Paste the HTML list into your page template or a block of your CMS, or copy the links one by one.

What the share dialog looks like is up to each platform, and LinkedIn and Facebook build the post from your Open Graph tags, not from the link.

Share link generator questions

How do I make a WhatsApp share link?

Use https://wa.me/?text= followed by your message and the address, both URL-encoded. The generator does the encoding and puts the text before the address, so the chat shows your sentence with the link under it. On a phone it opens the app; on a computer it opens WhatsApp Web with the message ready and the person picks the contact.

Can I prefill text in a LinkedIn share?

No. LinkedIn’s share-offsite address takes only the page address; the post text is typed by the person, and the card under it comes from your Open Graph tags. If the card looks wrong, fix og:title, og:description and og:image on the page, then paste the address into LinkedIn’s Post Inspector to refresh its cache.

How do I create a share link for X?

The address is https://x.com/intent/post with url, text, hashtags and via parameters. The generator fills them in and encodes them; hashtags are comma separated without the # sign, and via is your account without the @. The person sees the post prefilled and can edit it before posting.

What is a mailto link?

A link that opens the person’s email program with a new message. The subject= and body= parts prefill the subject and the body; the generator puts your text in both and the page address on its own line in the body. It opens whatever email app the device has, so it works without any script on your page.

Are share buttons bad for page speed?

The script-based ones often are: the official Facebook and X buttons load their own scripts and set cookies before anyone shares. Plain links like the ones this generator writes load nothing, set no cookie and need no consent banner; they open the platform only when someone clicks. Style them with your own CSS and icons.

Is this share link generator free?
