Terms of use

getReport checks a public web page you name and produces a report. It is free of charge, needs no account, and is funded by voluntary donations. Features that cost money may switch on and off depending on funding, as shown on the funding page. We may change or discontinue the service at any time; reports stay available for 12 months from creation unless deleted.

• Check sites you own, manage, or are otherwise allowed to test. Our crawler is polite and identifies itself, but the request is yours.
• Limits apply per connection (10 fresh reports in 10 minutes, 50 a day) and per target site (5 fresh reports an hour); cached reports do not count. Need more? Ask for an API key when the API launches.
• Do not automate the website, scrape reports or resell the service. Use the API for integrations.
• Do not use getReport to attack, overload or probe sites for vulnerabilities you are not authorised to test. We block abuse and may report it.

Reports are automated measurements and heuristics. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and a good score is not a guarantee of anything. The service is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, and to the extent permitted by law we are not liable for damages arising from its use or unavailability.

Reports about your site are yours to share, print, embed and quote. The check catalogue, guides and the site design are ours; the code is published under an open licence where the repository says so. Third-party names on comparison pages belong to their owners and are used for identification only.
